In 2013, Sammy graduated high school.
By 2018, he still had not been able to find work.
Like many autistic people, Sammy struggled to connect his skill set with a paying job. He lived at home with his parents, without hope, and without a vision of the future.
Today, Sammy works from home as a video editor, a career he finds fulfilling and plans to do for a long time. Like many on the spectrum, Sammy has talent for recognizing patterns, great focus, and strong attention to detail.
Unfortunately, Sammy is an exception and not the rule. Close to 90% of autistic people are unemployed or underemployed, but ICare4Autism is committed to changing that.
Our program, ICare2Work, matches young adults with apprenticeships based on their skill set. We need to raise $50,000 to get it off the ground, but we will keep at it until all high school students in the USA are able to enter the workforce after graduation.
