An Organization Dedicated to Providing Autism Training and Education Launches in Massachusetts
Spectrum Strategy Group, an organization seeking to provide families, employers, and clinician with autism education and training, opened this past month in Massachusetts.
The organization’s director, Ilia Walsh, has more than 25 years of experience working with parents and children. She is also the mother of a child on the autism spectrum. As an organization, Spectrum also worked with many prominent figures in the autism community, including Dr. Temple Grandin, Dr. Stephen Shore, and Tony Atwood.
According to a report by Yahoo Finance, Spectrum has trained over 1,000 administrators, faculty and staff at over 150 school districts in Massachusetts and New York. Clients will be able to work directly with SSG’s team, which includes a dedicated professional who will guide them from start to finish. SSG has also held speaking events at the Massachusetts State Department of Disability Services, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Wellesley College, Beth Israel Deaconess Center, the AANE Connections Conference, and the National Center for Women in IT Conference. “Our vision is to see the unique gifts and talents of individuals on the autism spectrum fully recognized,” Walsh said. “Armed with self-awareness and a toolkit of strategies, individuals can live and work to their highest potential.”
