Dr. Lorene Amet to Speak on Biology of Autism

ICare4Autism has invited Dr. Lorene Amet to present autism in Israel at this year’s ICare4Autism International Conference in Jerusalem.  She will discuss the more biological perspective of autism syndromes, focusing mainly on the time period between initial diagnosis and early intervention.

Dr. Amet, a neuroscientist with a recently completed Master’s degree in Special Education; Autism, aims to help the lives of those diagnosed with autism in every way possible.  As a mother of a child with autism, she has been personally affected by this disorder, and looks to educate and enlighten other families with her story and research.  She shares her son’s story on her website, which also covers education, dietary suggestions, scientific findings, and general health.

Dr. Amet is also the Principal Scientist at Scotland’s Autism Treatment Trust (ATT), where she is involved in various clinical research projects.  She is an expert in autism diagnosis, and is trained in various methods such as the Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R), and in administration of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS).
