2 Million Australians living with multiple disabilities: study

The Autism News | English By The Australian AN estimated 10 per cent of Australians, or two million people, suffered from two or more disabilities, according to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare. While the institute’s report includes the infirmities of old age, it found that half of all children aged under 15 years with psychiatric disability (42,300) or acquired brain injury (11,500) had three or more disabilities, followed by over one-third of children with sensory-speech (48,100) or intellectual disability (55,100).
